A sense of glory created with full utilization of a traditional art. A sense of security enabled by an underlying spirit of tradition The highly refined technique of Inshu Washl tactfully and spontaneously envisions a future for washl.
Inshu Washi's very long history of over 1300 years comes from not only handing down the tradition of making it but also more importantly constant evolution. Some good examples of this would include the '3-dimensional paper making" that was enabled by Inshu Washi for the first time in Japan in 1987 in creating paper for use in finishing cylindrical lighting equipment or in 2002 gPhotocatalyst Washig, which decomposes and detoxifies organic substances that are harmful to humans, being successfully produced for commercial use. In addition the production of a particular type of washi has also been a success. which is made of chitin and chitosan extracted from crab shells mixed together with the typical ingredients, and thus make the washi resistant to hot water. In the literal sense of the phrase 'keio-kairai' Inshu Washi has appropriately handed down their predecessorsf great work while still exploring an even more prosperous future.
